The BO MIRT research carried out during the past year into urbanisation and accessibility in Brainport Eindhoven has clearly shown that a safe, smart and future-proof mobility system is a precondition for a highly urbanised area in Eindhoven in 2040.

Follow-up step

The national and regional authorities are going to continue developing this complex Brainport challenge which is intended to produce, among other things, a mobility strategy which focuses on smart and shared mobility, more and improved regional public transport, the development of Eindhoven station as a(n) (inter)national hub and a robust solution for the A2/N2/A67/A50 and the underlying road network via the existing route. The various studies and assessments of the Brainport region are going to be discussed at the next BO MIRT in order to take follow-up steps and weigh up the financial options on that basis.
